ThIs course has been specifically designed in 2 stages for those who need literacy and numeracy  support and for whom a full qualification may be too daunting. 
After successful completion of stage 1 of this training, the pathway will continue into stage 2, culminating in the successful completion of the full Cert III in Aged Care qualification.

Stage 1
Students will take part in Foundation skills classes in addition to the mainstream Aged Care classes. Upon succesful completion of this course, you will receive statements of attainment in:

CHCWHS312A    Follow WHS safety procedures for direct care work
CHCICS301B       Provide support to meet personal care needs
CHCAC319A        Provide support for people living with dementia

FSKLRG11          Use routine strategies for work related learning
FSKOCM07         Interact effectively with others for work
FSKRDG10         Read and respond to workplace information

This qualification is designed for individuals who require further foundation skills development to prepare for workforce entry or vocational training pathways and want to try a variety of industry options, eg hospitality, aged care, business. You can have a go at each!

It is suitable for individuals who require:

  • a pathway to employment or vocational training
  • reading, writing, numeracy, oral communication and learning skills at Australian Core Skills Framework (ACSF) Level 3
  • entry level digital literacy and employability skills
  • a vocational training and employment plan.
